SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology. Method for obtaining 3,3',3'',3'''- (3,8,13,17-tetramethylporphyrin-2,7,12,18-tetrayl) tetrapropionic acid (copproporphyrin III) from the culture liquid of the biosynthesis process with Arthrobacter strain. Pre-acidified culture liquid is filtered. Copperporphyrin III is precipitated from the resulting solution by adjusting the pH to 3.5 ± 0.5. Then, selective esterification of coproporphyrin with a solution of methyl alcohol in sulfuric acid is carried out with a molar ratio of coproporphyrin: methyl alcohol 1.0÷(20:50). Tetramethyl ester of coproporphyrin is extracted with chloroform. Tetramethyl ester of coproporphyrin is crystallized from the chloroform-methanol solution. Alkaline hydrolysis is carried out in a water-butanol medium with transformation of the tetramethyl ester of coproporphyrin into the free base of coproporphyrin.

EFFECT: invention allows to simplify the technological process of obtaining coproporphyrin III, reduce the consumption of organic solvents.
