FIELD: biotechnology, medicine, microbiology. SUBSTANCE: invention proposes new strain of bacterium Arthrobacter globiformis $$$-479 - a producer of coproporphyrin-III and method of its preparing. Strain is cultured on medium containing glucose, ammonium hydrogen phosphate, corn extract and mixture of hydrolyzate amino acids at 32-36 C, at pH = 6.8-7.2. For isolation of the water-soluble end product coproporphyrin-III is reprecipitated successively from native solution with 5-7% and 2-3.5% hydrochloric acid solutions followed by chromatography on macroporous anionite, elution with ammonium hydroxide, coproporphyrin-III precipitation from eluate at acidification and its conversion to water-soluble for by extraction with water at alkalization. Purity of coproporphyrin-III water-soluble salt is 90-96%. EFFECT: enhanced productivity of new strain indicated above, high purity of the end product. 4 cl
