FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to welding equipment. Welding apparatus comprises a main transformer, first and second rectifier bridge, while it is provided with a ferresonance voltage regulator. Main transformer has one-layer primary side located on one core leg and a secondary side located on its second core and on top of it – an additional side, which is single-layer with the number of turns equal to the number of turns of the primary side, and with the winding that made counter and multidirectional with respect to the winding of the primary side, and over the primary and additional sides, contact paths are made for interaction with commutator, set with the possibility of smooth current control.

EFFECT: use of the invention makes it possible to increase the stability of arc’s start starting and burning, to expand the range of welding current control.
