FIELD: welding technique; may be used for manufacture of compact welding apparatuses for domestic use. SUBSTANCE: contact-arc welding apparatus includes power transformer, power member unit and device for pulse-type stabilization of arc burning. Device is in the form of additional winding arranged under secondary winding directly on magnetic circuit. Leading terminal of stabilization winding is connected through capacitor with end terminal of primary winding. End terminal of stabilization winding is connected with its own leading end. Apparatus is provided with mode switch and unit for shaping contact-welding pulse. Unit is connected through thyristorized optron and mode switch with circuit for controlling power members. Secondary winding has additional tapping for contact welding. At winding magnetic circuit of transformer is separated by hypothetical sectors. Sector restricted by 220-240 deg is used for arranging primary winding connected in parallel and mutually opposite. The remaining sectors are used for placing stabilization winding onto which secondary winding is wound. primary, additional and secondary windings are characterized by next ratio of turn numbers: W1/W2 = 1/3 - 1/4, W3/W1 = 1/10 - 1/12, where W1 is turn number of primary winding; W2 is turn number of secondary winding, W3 is turn number of stabilization winding.
