Intelligent socket on and off switching control method comprises detecting that the current time reaches a timing time, acquiring stored timing information and sending a timing command to the associated intelligent socket through local area network. Timing information includes an associated intelligent socket, timing time and a timing command. Timing command is used to control the intelligent socket in order to control on and off switching of current supplied by the intelligent socket according to the timing command. And, when there are a plurality of sockets, the associated socket is determined according to the device identification in the timing information. Also, apparatus for controlling on and off switching of an intelligent socket and a control device are disclosed.
