FIELD: analytical chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry and can be used to determine gold content in gold ores of Class I and II. Method for determining gold content involves drying the sample with a grain size of less than 1 mm to a constant mass and using a dried sample for the second and subsequent determinations of gold, the first unit determination is performed using an undried sample, wherein the sample material is mixed with a charge containing lead oxides, carbonate and sodium tetrahydrate tetraborate, which does not contain a reducing agent, melting the resulting mixture, measuring the melt mass and recording the amount of gold in the melt, drying the sample simultaneously with the first single determination of metals, determining the mass fraction of moisture in the sample and, according to the proposed formulas, determining the gold content of the sample.

EFFECT: determination of gold content in gold ores of Class I and II.
