FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, particularly to traumatology and orthopedics. Lumbrical muscles are separated in the second and third intermetacarpal spaces, while keeping on motor branches and filamentous arterial vessels. Their tendons are cut off from the points of attachment to the base of metacarpal bones. Muscles are turned at 60–70° toward the head of the first metacarpal bone. Tendon of the third lumbrical muscle is fixed to the abdomen of the second lumbrical muscle, the tendon of the fourth lumbrical muscle – to the abdomen of the third lumbrical muscle.
EFFECT: method restores of thumb apposition function and cylindrical grasp of the hand.
