FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: method for estimating distribution parameters of delay time of gas-discharge indicator discharge inception consists in cyclic formation of stimulating signals at the electrodes of a gas-discharge indicator N times during time T in each cycle and measurement of delay time of discharge inception ti. In order to increase the reliability of the studies, after the formation of stimulating signals is completed, the number of non-ignitions of the examined display element - n is recorded in each cycle. Value of the average delay time of discharge inception is calculated by the formula . Device for estimating distribution parameters of delay time of discharge inception comprises a stimulating signal unit, a bar switching units "Y" and "X", a gas-discharge indicator, which is optically connected with an analyser of a display element state, a RS-trigger. In order to increase the reliability of the studies, a synchronization unit, a time interval meter, a processing and result returning unit, which implements the formula , are introduced into the device.

EFFECT: increased reliability of determining the statistical distribution parameters at different numbers of ignitions of the studied display element.
