SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a connecting device and a method of connecting tyre components. Technical result is achieved by connecting device (1) for connecting tyre components on support member (2), the support member being adapted to support the tyre components along the connection line, the connecting device comprising first rocking member (4) configured to move in a rocking plane along the connection line for squeezing the tyre components together in cooperation with the support member, wherein first rocking member (4) comprises arched pressing member (40) with convex contact surface (43) that is disposed so as to face the support member, wherein convex contact surface (43) has radius (R1, R2) which defines pivot centre (C) for first rocking member (4), said pivot centre (C) being located outside first rocking member (4), wherein first rocking member (4) is movable in rocking motion in a rocking plane about said pivot centre (C).
EFFECT: technical result is improved quality of connection.
