FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: method of obtaining a scalar vortex beam and the device for its realization ensure the formation of a far-field intensity distribution due to the interference of individual Gaussian, parallel beams located in different phase states and located uniformly along the perimeters of geometric figures possessing a common center of symmetry. In this case, all the beams are in the same polarization state. As a result, it is possible to form a composite beam having zero intensity at the center and a nonzero orbital angular momentum.
EFFECT: technical result consists in creating a system for the formation of an optical (laser) scalar vortex beam with a nonzero orbital angular momentum.
