SUBSTANCE: method and apparatus for controlling the application are provided. Result is achieved by fact, that the executable application is displayed on a touch panel; a predefined user input is detected; memo window for receiving handwritten input over the application in response to the detected user input is displayed, wherein the memo window includes a handwriting input area and an non-handwriting input area; handwriting image is received in the handwriting input area of the memo window; and the received handwriting image is recognized; text corresponding to the recognized handwriting image is transmitted into the executable application; and the executable application is controlled to perform an operation related to said text if the text corresponds to the control command in the executable application.
EFFECT: technical result is the ability to control the application by recognizing a handwriting image.
