FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to etching of a metal cylinder with a printing surface. Etching device comprises an etching bath, a holder for holding both ends of a longitudinally rotatable cylinder and horizontally locating the cylinder to be treated in an etching bath, the at least one pickling feed pipe located at a predetermined distance from the outer surface of the cylinder being processed along the longitudinal direction is parallel to the outer surface of the cylinder, and injection nozzles for feeding the pickling solution to the surface of the cylinder being treated. Nozzles are oriented with an upward slope with respect to the horizontal orientation direction of the cylinder being treated. Direction of injection of each of the nozzles is oriented toward the centre of rotation of the cylinder being processed from a position with a downward slope relative to the cylinder being treated.
EFFECT: uniform etching of the cylinder is ensured.
