FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method for sludge chromate processing involves sludge treatment with water, with addition of sulfuric acid, ozonization of the resulting suspension and suspension separation on the filter, the resulting secondary sludge is washed with water, to which a reducing reagent is added - aqueous solution of sulfate and/or ferrous chloride in an amount of at least 0.3 m3/ton of secondary sludge and secondary wet sludge is removed.
EFFECT: invention allows to increase the degree of extraction of chromium from chromate production sludge, to transfer chromate sludge from the second to the fourth class of danger and allow its subsequent use for construction of roads.
