FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in cleaning flue gas from carbon dioxide. Gas produced by combustion of coal in the first combustion chamber 10 is filtered and fed to the second combustion chamber 15. In the second combustion chamber 15, gas is combusted at a temperature in the range of 1200°C to 2400°C in the presence of oxygen and a fuel source. Resulting exhaust gas is treated using membrane filters to separate a concentrated stream of carbon dioxide from a stream containing nitrogen.
EFFECT: part of the heat produced by burning the gas in the second combustion chamber 15 is used to operate one or more devices generating electricity.
