FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical industry. Furnace method of producing carbon black is carried out using the following equipment: furnace reactor (1), an inert gas supply device (9); preliminary heater (11) and separation unit (14) with unloading device (15) for further treatment and storage of produced furnace black. Furnace reactor (1) includes first reaction zone (2) for generation of hot furnace gas, line (6) for supply of gas containing O2, and fuel supply line (5); second reaction zone (3) for contacting hot flue gas with feed stock fed via line (7); and third reaction zone (4) containing means (8) for reaction damping. Said combined streams are fed into first reaction zone (2) in amounts providing k-factor value of less than 1.2. Gas containing O2, represents air enriched or depleted of oxygen. Fuel contains natural gas. Obtained furnace carbon black has STSA surface area from 130 to 350 m2/g and OAN value of 20–150 ml/100 g, measured in accordance with ASTM D2414 standard. BET surface area to STSA surface area ratio is less than 1.1, if STSA surface area is from 130 to 150 m2/g; less than 1.2, if STSA surface area is from 150 to 180 m2/g; and less than 1.3, if STSA surface area is more than 180 m2/g. STSA surface area and BET surface area are measured in accordance with ASTM D 6556 standard.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain furnace black with controlled low porosity.
