FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: for producing said salt, 2-ethyl-6-methyl-3-hydroxypyridine is dissolved in isopropyl alcohol at room temperature with stirring. Salicylic acid is dissolved in isopropyl alcohol at room temperature with stirring. Further, equal amounts of the solutions described above are mixed. Resulting mixture is cooled to 5 °C and maintained until the solvent is evaporated and precipitation in the form of a glassy mass settles out. Precipitate is maintained at a temperature of 5 °C for four days before formation of the crystals. Resulting salt is a white crystalline powder. Salt has a peak of 98–104 °C according to the differential scanning calorimetry measurements and peaks 20Θ° 7.5, 11.2, 14.0, 15.0, 16.3, 17.1, 19.5, 21.1, 22.6, 24.3, 25.4, 27.7, 32.6 according to measurements of X-ray diffraction of a polycrystal.

EFFECT: salicylate salt of 2-ethyl-6-methyl-3-hydroxypyridine and a method for producing thereof; also its solvates and hydrates.
