SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a smoking article having reduced ignition proclivity characteristics, comprising: a core comprising smoking tobacco; and a paper wrapper surrounding the core of smoking tobacco, wherein the paper wrapper includes separate regions treated with a film-forming composition, wherein the treated regions are separated by untreated regions, wherein the treated regions have characteristics sufficient to reduce ignition proclivity, wherein the film-forming composition, applied to the paper wrapper, contains filler particles, wherein the filler particles contain magnesium oxide, mica, kaolin clay having the form of plates, or mixtures thereof.
EFFECT: technical result is ensuring fire safety.
