FIELD: lighting.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to lighting engineering. Portable lamp, for example, a head lamp, containing: light source (114, 401, 403) comprising at least one or more sources to generate at least one light beam; power supply unit (110) for controlling the beam brightness as a response to control information or a control signal and control unit (120, 200) for generating control information or said control signal. Lamp is characterized in that control unit (120, 200) comprises at least photosensor (122, 215) and control unit (125, 125'), that provides control of the switching off phase of one or more beams during a period indistinguishable for the lamp user. In this case, the switching off phase is combined with at least one measurement by means of said at least one photosensor that detects a change in the radiation level reflected by the surrounding medium.
EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the measurement efficiency and in the ability to control the brightness of the lamp.
