FIELD: astronautics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to holding a geosynchronous spacecraft (SC) in a given standing area with an allowable inclination of the orbit to 5°. Method comprises determining the maximum allowable inclination, the initial inclination close to it, and determining the optimal longitude of the ascending node of the SC launch orbit, taking into account the period of launching SC into the orbit. After launching, the parameters of the orbit are measured, by determining the inclination (decreasing at the beginning). After the beginning of the increase in the inclination, the reference value (less than the maximum allowable value) is set, and the part of the working medium necessary to maintain the longitude of the spacecraft after termination of the inclination corrections is calculated. Inclination within the specified reference value until the working medium is exhausted is corrected – deducting the specified part.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is increased active life time of the SC when it is held in a given standing area.
