FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method for improving quality of hydrocarbon residues and heavy distillate feedstocks comprising: contacting hydrocarbon residues and hydrogen with a metal-containing hydroprocessing catalyst on a non-zeolitic basis in a first fluidized bed hydroprocessing reactor system to produce a first effluent stream; fractionating the first effluent from the first fluidized bed hydrotreating reactor to produce a first liquid product and a first vapor product; contacting the first vapor product with a hydrocarbon stream in an absorption column in a countercurrent mode; separating the first vapor product and the hydrocarbon stream in an absorption column to form a second vapor product and a second liquid product, the second vapor product having a reduced content of middle distillates and containing hydrocarbons of a gas oil fraction, contacting a second vapor product and a heavy distillate feedstock with a zeolite selective hydrocracking catalyst in a second system of hydrocracking reactors in the fluidized bed to produce a second effluent stream; removing the second effluent from the second system of hydrocracking reactors in the fluidized bed; and fractionating the second effluent from the second fluidized bed hydrocracking reactor system to produce one or more hydrocarbon fractions.

EFFECT: use of the present invention allows to achieve high degrees of conversion of hydrocarbons.
