FIELD: means of ensuring safety.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in emergency situations for the preparation of drinking water from salt water. Method comprises successively mixing the water first with a coagulant – Al2(OH)5Cl to transfer salts of general hardness into an insoluble precipitate, and then with baking soda NaHCO3 in a molar ratio of 1:1 to prevent excess coagulant.
EFFECT: method is characterized by ease of implementation, allows the use of salt water for drinking in emergency situations without a threat to health and receive drinking water of high quality, practically free from salts of rigidity, possessing high organoleptic parameters, and, in addition, to receive environmentally friendly sea salt for food and medical purposes.
