FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: using to study the spatial distribution of oil in the porous space of soils and other porous media. Essence of invention is that sample of the tested material is taken, an X-ray contrast agent and an X-ray computer microtomography method are used, wherein the radiopaque agent, for the preparation of which an alcohol with a number of carbon atoms of 3 or more is used, where the metal salt with a high atomic weight dissolves to full saturation, is mixed with oil, and a direct study of the spatial distribution of oil in the porous material is also carried out.
EFFECT: increase in the X-ray contrast of oil and petroleum products contained in the pore space of the ground, while carrying out a computed tomography.
