FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to catalytically active masses which are a mixture of a multi-element oxide containing molybdenum and vanadium and at least one oxide of molybdenum and which can be prepared according to the invention, use thereof in the catalysis of heterogeneously catalysed partial gas phase oxidation of (meth)acrolein to (meth)acrylic acid, as well as to use thereof for the preparation of shell catalysts, particularly suitable for said catalysis. Method for the preparation of a catalytically active mass is described which is a mixture of a multielement oxide containing molybdenum and vanadium in which the molar proportion of molybdenum in the total amount of elements different from oxygen is from 5 to 95 mol% and the molar ratio Mo/V of the molar amount of molybdenum and vanadium contained in the multi-element oxide is from 15:1 to 1:1, with at least one molybdenum oxide, wherein said method involves the implementation of the following technical measures: from the sources of elementary components of a multi-element oxide, an aqueous solution or aqueous suspension is prepared, wherein in the case of preparation of an aqueous suspension, each of these sources passes through the state of the aqueous solution; by spray-drying an aqueous solution or an aqueous suspension, a powdery spray-dried product P is obtained; with addition to the powdery spray-dried product P of at least one powdery molybdenum oxide S, which consists of ≥98 wt% Mo and O, and after homogenously blending said components, geometric pre-moulded articles are formed from the resulting mixture; and the geometric pre-moulded articles are heat-treated to form a catalytically active mass. Also described is a process for heterogeneously catalysed partial gas phase oxidation of (meth)acrolein to (meth)acrylic acid, wherein the catalytically active mass of the catalyst used for heterogeneously catalysed partial gas phase oxidation is obtained by the above-described method.
EFFECT: technical result is the production of a catalytically active mass characterised by a high level of activity, in which a process of heterogeneously catalysed partial gas-phase oxidation of (meth)acrolein to (meth)acrylic acid produces acrylic acid with high selectivity.
