FIELD: heat exchange.
SUBSTANCE: method of liquefying a stream of hydrocarbons, such as natural gas, produced from a feed stream, using a heat exchanger, for example a welded aluminum plate heat exchanger mounted vertically, comprising an upper portion, where the temperature is the highest and the cold lower portion, where the temperature is the lowest, and which is physically different from the upper portion, the method comprises at least next step: introducing a two-phase coolant stream into the heat exchanger from at least one inlet of the lower portion so that the direction of stream of said coolant in the heat exchanger descends. Volume ratio of the two-phase coolant stream is 5–50 %.
EFFECT: use of this group of inventions provides an increased efficiency of using a liquid coolant.
