SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for obtaining information about a content and an image display device. Said result is achieved by the following, that the method for obtaining information about the content is proposed, including the steps: receiving a video signal from external apparatus, connected to the image display apparatus; extracting an object included in the OSD image, from the image, which is formed using the video signal; and collecting information about the content by using the extracted object, that has different characteristics depending on the type of content provider, that provides the content to external equipment.
EFFECT: technical result is to increase the reliability and accuracy of image display devices.
