SUBSTANCE: clutch friction material (10) includes base material (20), intermediate layer (30), and outer surface layer (40). Base material (20) comprises a rubber material and a thermosetting resin. Intermediate layer (30) is disposed on base material (20) and includes either a glassy carbon structure or a graphite structure resulted from the heat curing of the thermosetting resin contained in base material (20). Outer surface layer (40) is disposed on intermediate layer (30) and contains pyrolyzate resulted from the pyrolysis of the rubber and resin components contained in base material (20). Clutch friction material further includes a plurality of grooves formed on one of its surfaces. Base material (20) has an annular shape with a central axis and a plurality of grooves made extending radially with respect to the central axis.
EFFECT: noise reduction is achieved.
