SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of mechanical engineering, namely, to the testing technique for the investigation and testing of reducers. Method for determining the variability of the ratio of the reduction gear is that it provides the initial values of the speed of the input shaft, the moment of deceleration of the output shaft of the reducer and determine the variability of the gear ratio discretely for the difference in the rotation time of the input and output shafts at the basic angles of their rotation, the basic angle of rotation of the input shaft is i times greater than the basic angle of rotation of the output shaft, where i is the nominal value of the gear ratio. Test facility contains an electric drive and an electric brake. Motion sensors are made of two parts. One part is a cup-shaped bushing mounted on the end of the cantilever part of the shaft, with a flat mirror at the end, fixed at an angle to the centerline, another fixed part is made in the photodetector, illuminator, forming an optical ray along the axial line of the shaft, and a line optical fiber.
EFFECT: technical result is the development of a method and an apparatus for determining the variation in gear ratio.
