SUBSTANCE: method of packaging one or more articles comprises selecting an identifier of one or more articles to be packaged in a container, identifying the three-dimensional dimensions of each of one or more articles, calculating a container volume based on respective three-dimensional dimensions of each of one or more articles, the calculated container volume being arranged to accommodate all of one or more articles within the container. Further, a container having at least the calculated volume is manufactured. Container can then be sent to a packing station as a pick item. Inventions also include embodiments of the method, a computer system for implementing the packaging method, a computer program product for determining the volume of a container for packaging one or more articles, and a packaging system for carrying out the method.
EFFECT: group of inventions improves packaging quality, efficiency and reduces costs.
