FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to thermometry and can be used in meteorology to investigate the vertical distribution of ground or soil temperature. Device contains a probe in the form of a vertical chain of digital temperature sensors having a 1-WIRE communication protocol, interconnected in parallel and having unique logical numbers; cable entry through which a cable is output that connects the sensors to a controller-logger for reading information. Device makes it possible to significantly reduce the distortion of temperature distribution by heat flows through the communication cable due to the fact that the cable entry is located at a distance of at least 200 mm from ground or soil surface, while the horizontal part of the cable going from the probe to the controller (logger), horizontally laid in a closed trench, has a length of at least 1 meter.

EFFECT: reduction of the distortion of temperature distribution by heat flows through the communication cable.
