FIELD: measurement.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for measuring temperature profile in water medium and can be used for long-term measurement of vertical profile of water temperature. Device includes surface buoy with external communication channels and power supply; subsurface buoy comprising a recording unit, information storage and processing unit and pressure sensor; fibre-optic line with fibre Bragg gratings (FBG) embedded in its structure, performing functions of temperature sensors; free-hanging weight providing vertical position of all elements of the device. Recording unit used is an interrogator – a device which combines a laser connected to the input of a fibre-optic line, a module for controlling operation of the laser, a photodetector module with an analogue-to-digital converter and a spectrum analyser. Surface buoy containing wireless communication channels transmits the obtained data to the consumer in the coastal or ship control station. In addition, the surface buoy is equipped with a replaceable source of autonomous power supply (battery pack), which provides energy to electronic equipment located in both buoys. Location of the power source in the surface buoy makes it possible to replace it without the need to retrieve the entire device to the surface.
EFFECT: expanding the functionality of the device when operating in water areas with great depths and complex bottom topography.
