FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cold-rolled and annealed sheet martensitic steel used in the automotive industry. Said steel contains, wt%: from 0.22 to 0.36 carbon; from 0.5 to 2.0 manganese; approximately 0.2 silicon; if necessary, one or more Nb, Ti and B alloying elements; rest being iron and the inevitable impurities Al, N, S, P. Steel has a carbon equivalent value of less than 0.44 and a tensile strength of at least 1700 MPa.

EFFECT: high ability to mold by rolling, weldability, ability to stamping and resistance to cracking are provided.
