FLOW CONDITIONING FEATURE FOR SUCTION DIFFUSER Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC F04D29/42 F04D29/66

Abstract RU 2662266 C2

FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a suction diffuser or arrangement and comprises a body and a flow conditioning arrangement. Diffuser body has an interior cavity, inlet and outlet openings for receiving and forming an outgoing fluid. Flow conditioning arrangement is formed on the inlet side and comprises a cover with a compound contour, connected to the body. Cover has at least one surface with a compound internal contour which extends into the interior cavity, dissipates the medium entering the interior cavity and provides flow conditioning to obtain a uniform flow of the medium by directing the medium to the outlet, at least in part, by means of an element having a compound contour and corresponding to said at least one surface of the cover. Cover has a peripheral and a central portion and a partition located in the interior cavity to restrict or regulate the flow of the medium from the inlet to the outlet. At least one surface with a compound inner contour of the cover has grooves formed between the peripheral and central portions. Partition has deflecting plates with end portions. Plates are equally spaced from each other. Axis of the partition is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the body. Shape of each end portion corresponds to the grooves of the at least one surface with a compound inner contour to ensure mating or alignment therewith.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at preventing the formation of fluid recirculation and stagnation zones, reducing pressure losses and increasing the efficiency of operation.
