FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the internal combustion engines. Proposed fuel combustion device for internal combustion engine operating on gaseous fuel comprises combustion chamber 200 formed by cylinder cavity, cylinder head and piston performing reciprocating movement inside cylinder cavity. Inner diameter of cylinder cavity is at least 90 mm, and ratio of said diameter to length of piston stroke does not exceed 0.95. In said device there is at least one inlet channel 24 for supply of working mixture charge into combustion chamber 200, and in cylinder head at least one inlet valve is installed, which interacts with inlet channel in order to create mainly vertical vortex motion in combustion chamber.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce difference of power, torque and efficiency between diesel engines and gasoline engines operating on gaseous fuel.
