SUBSTANCE: urine-absorbent articles containing a modified sulfate cellulose fiber with unique properties are described. Sulphate fiber is produced by a process comprising at least one iron catalyzed peroxide treatment in an acidic medium which can be introduced into at least one stage of a multi-stage bleaching process. These products can be diapers, incontinence products and other urine absorbent devices.
EFFECT: modified sulfate cellulose fiber exhibits improved odor control, improved compressibility and/or improved whiteness.
