INFLATABLE DISK BED FOR COSMONAUTS Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A47C27/08 B64G1/60

Abstract RU 2662643 C1

FIELD: astronautics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the space equipment and can be used in astronauts life support systems on board of the spacecraft, in particular, to prevent the astronauts occupational disease arising from the blood excessive redistribution in the astronauts' body under conditions of weightlessness. Bed pads are made of equipped with air compressor inflatable mattresses, which pump air into their cavities using the motor, mattress has the shape of the flat circular disc configured to increase its radius when inflated to the size by 5 cm exceeding the tallest cosmonaut from the crew height value, by the dorsal parts astronauts sleeping bags are placed on the disk upper surface and by the head ends is in the closest proximity to its center, and with the leg ends near its outer edge, in the disk inflated state the bags are placed symmetrically on its area, the bags axial lines are located radially, bags are made for each cosmonaut taking into account of his body individual dimensions and weight, are firmly fixed to the disk surface, fixing elements enable the bag holding on the disk surface together with the astronaut, taking into account of his mass with the disk angular rotation of up to 30 revolutions per minute.

EFFECT: in the astronaut body the invention creates an artificial gravity with the gravity vector, directed from the head to the feet side, which prevents the blood supply pathological redistribution under conditions of weightlessness due to increase in the filling the circulatory system blood column force of gravity.
