FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to transport machine building. In the first variant the element of the vehicle of the closed cross-section contains internal and external panels and connection areas. Inner and outer panels have upper plates and two side walls. Vehicle element contains first, second and transitional areas. In the first area the difference between the outer and inner heights of the first area is less than the difference between the outer and inner heights of the second area. In the second area the outer height of the second area has a constant value greater or less than the inner height of the second area. In the first transition area the heights of the first transition area change. In the second variant the element of the vehicle of the closed cross-section has outer and inner panels with side walls. TSo × to < TSi × ti ... (f) is satisfied in case, when the outer height is greater than the inner height. TSo × to > TSi × ti... (g) satisfied in case when the outer height is less than the inner height, where TSo (MPa) is the tensile strength of the outer panel, to (mm) is the thickness of the outer panel plate; TSi (MPa) is the tensile strength of the inner panel; ti (mm) is the thickness of the inner panel plate.
EFFECT: improvement in absorption of impact energy is achieved.
