SUBSTANCE: invention relates to side structure of vehicle body. Outer panel of the side structure includes the first area covering the lower end section of the post, and the second area adjacent to the first area on the front side and back side. Side structure inner panel includes: a third area having a portion facing the first region in the transverse direction of the vehicle; and a fourth region adjacent to third region on front side and rear side. Second area is specified as area of the first strength having higher strength in comparison with the first area. Third area is set as the area of the second strength having higher strength in comparison with the fourth area. Second area and the third area are connected to each other.
EFFECT: higher safety during lateral collision of vehicle.
