FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring equipment. Measuring probe is designed to measure the distribution of material inside the blast furnace charge. It contains a sensor with a transmitting coil and a receiving coil, which are protected from heating and abrasion by a protective sheath. Alternating current is supplied to the transmitting coil, the transmitting coil emitting a primary alternating magnetic field that induces eddy currents in any electrically conductive material of the charge. Eddy currents generate a secondary alternating magnetic field. Receiving coil measures the electric current that is generated by the primary alternating magnetic field and the secondary alternating magnetic field. Measured electric current is estimated by the control and evaluation unit. Electric current is an indicator of the distribution of the material of the charge inside the blast furnace.
EFFECT: improvement of measurement accuracy.
