SUBSTANCE: proposed invention concerns a method for operating a blast furnace containing a rotating tray; a device for measuring the profile, made with the ability to measure the profiles of the surface of the charge loaded into the blast furnace; and the tilt angle controller, made with the ability to adjust the tilt angle of the rotating tray, and the specified device contains a radio wave distance meter, which is installed on the furnace throat and is made with the ability to measure the distance to the surface of the charge in the blast furnace, the device receives these profiles based on distance data for the entire blast furnace obtained by scanning the measuring wave of the radio wave distance meter in the blast furnace in the circumferential direction; and the device contains at least one of the following components: an arithmetic unit made with the possibility of issuing control commands during rotation, based on the obtained surface profiles, a specified controller for changing the angle of inclination of the tray, or a controller for changing the rotation frequency of the tray or the feed rate of the charge fed into the tray.

EFFECT: accurate and rapid determination of the charge surface profiles in the blast furnace in the circumferential direction of the blast furnace and creation of a device for the blast furnace that can use means to adjust the angle of inclination of the rotating tray and to regulate the charge loading speed.
