SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the mechanisms of indicating the phases of the Moon. Mechanism for indicating the Moon phases for clocks containing a clockwork and a dial is proposed, wherein the moon phase indication mechanism comprises at least one lunar disc and at least one gear of the moon phases driven by a clock mechanism, at that the gearing of the phases of the moon being in mesh with the wheel of the phases of the Moon where the lunar disk is rigidly and at least indirectly mounted, at that the wheel of the Moon phases is made in a form of a ring gear and serves to move the lunar disk by means of a gear transmission of the Moon phases around the axis.
EFFECT: reducing energy consumption, simplifying the design and providing the more realistic representation of the lunar phases.
