SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device, assembly and method of connecting two pipes in fluid communication. Device includes connector body having opposite open ends, each is adapted to receive a free end of the tube, mechanical interlock device for preventing or limiting the axial movement of the connector body relative to the free end of the pipe when the free end of the pipe is inserted into the open end of the connector body, and a mechanical sealing device for providing a "metal-to-metal" seal between a pipe inserted into one of said open ends and a connector body.
