FIELD: engineering elements.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an apparatus for connecting two pipes in fluid communication. The apparatus comprises a connector body with opposing open ends, wherein each end is configured to receive the free end of the pipe, a mechanical locking apparatus intended to prevent or limit the axial displacement of the connector body relative to the free end of the pipe when the free end of the pipe is inserted into the open end of the connector body, and a mechanical sealing apparatus intended to provide a "metal-to-metal" seal between the pipe inserted into one of said open ends and the connector body.
EFFECT: provided connection of pipes in fluid communication by means of a connecting apparatus.
