FIELD: acoustics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for localizing a sound source. Underwater glider contains wings, rudders, engines, battery, control system. Glider contains two spaced apart detectors – fore and aft. Each detector is covered with a soundproof cover and is mounted on the longitudinal of the elastic threads. Data processing system includes a two-channel ADC whose outputs are connected to two-channel units for calculating the vertical and horizontal components of the intensity vector. Horizontal component calculation unit is associated with the azimuth angle calculation unit, aggregate azimuth angle calculation unit, and horizontal component differentiation unit. Unit for calculating the vertical component of the intensity vector is associated with the unit for differentiating the vertical component of the vector. In turn, the differentiation units of both components of the vector are connected with the unit for calculating the horizontal components of the intensity vector rotor, which, in its turn, is connected to the unit for calculating the angular component of the intensity rotor vector in a rotated coordinate system. Unit for calculating an angular component of an intensity rotor vector in a rotated coordinate system is associated with a block for calculating the maximum value of an angular component of an intensity vector rotor.
EFFECT: higher accuracy and range of detection of a source of sound.
