SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of personal care devices, in particular to shaving devices. Cutting unit of a shaving apparatus comprises an outer cutting component and an inner cutting component. Inner cutting component is driven with respect to the outer cutting component in the direction of travel. Said component includes a cutting element with a cutting edge that can be moved along the cutting path. Outer cutting component comprises an opening hair entry. It is bounded by the first and second walls of the outer cutting component. First wall comprises a cutting edge for interacting with the cutting edge of the inner cutting component. Edge portion of the second wall facing the plane containing the cutting path in a cross-section, taken substantially perpendicular to the plane containing the cutting path, touches a virtual circle with a radius of 30 mcm at two contact points on the virtual circle. Tangents to two successively located contact points in which the edge portion touches the virtual circle form an angle of 150°. Invention also includes a shaving apparatus.

EFFECT: technical result is improved quality of shaving.
