FIELD: data processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of processing audio signals. This method of estimating noise in an audio signal consists in evaluating (S100) the energy value for an audio signal and converting (S102) it to a logarithmic region. Noise level for the audio signal is estimated (S104) based on the converted energy value.
EFFECT: providing an effective noise estimation in the audio signal.
