SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the computer equipment. Method for modifying the parameters of a computer system comprises obtaining through the interaction agent a request for changing the parameters of the computer system from the initiator; creating a transaction with the changes that must be made to the parameters according to the request from the initiator and the current copy of the status of all parameters contained in the parameter store, which betray the means of reconfiguration; work with the help of the reconfiguration means to assess the impact of the changes made on the security level of the computer system by checking the correctness of the changes made to the transaction and the consistency of the changed parameters with the rest of the parameters contained in the parameter store, applying the security policy to the received current copy of the status of all parameters and to the information on the changes contained in the transaction; making a decision to modify the parameters contained in the parameter store, based on the results of the evaluation; updating parameters in the parameter store according to the decision, if the result of the assessment indicates that the security level will not decrease.

EFFECT: technical result is to provide a given level of system security in the event of a configuration change.
