FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a polyethylene-based composition and articles made therefrom. Composition comprises at least 95 wt. % of units derived from ethylene and less than 5 wt. % of units derived from one or more α-olefin comonomers. Polyethylene-based composition obtained using a chromium oxide catalyst has a density in the range 0.930–0.945 g/cm3, a molecular weight distribution characterised by a ratio of z-average molecular weight to weight average molecular weight (Mz/Mw) of less than 5, melt index I2 (measured at 190 °C, 2.16 kg) in the range 0.08–0.5 g/10 minutes and high flow melt index I21 (measured at 190 °C, 21.6 kg) in the range 10–20 g/10 minutes and a vinyl unsaturation level of less than 1 vinyl group per one thousand of carbon atoms present in the main chain of said composition.
EFFECT: composition according to the invention makes it possible to obtain moulded articles having a balance of good optical properties, such as low haze, high transparency and melt strength.
