SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for determining the volume and location of produced water during drilling of wells. In the method, at a predetermined interval of drilling depth, the mud density is measured (ρfn), while determining the volume of the well, filled with drilling fluid (Vf). According to the calculation, a plot of the received volume of produced water (Vw), which, depending on the interval of drilling depth, is determined by the formula , where Vw – volume of reservoir water, m3; Vf – volume of drilling fluid, m3; ρf – initial mud density, kg/m3; ρfn – density of the drilling fluid at the n-th interval, kg/m3; ρw – density of water, kg/m3. In this case, the ascending part of the graph indicates the beginning of the flow of water, and the downward part indicates the completion of this process.

EFFECT: technical result consists in determining the volume and location of the produced water during the drilling of wells with high operational efficiency and accuracy in relation to the depth of drilling.
