SUBSTANCE: invention relates to furniture, more particularly to furniture fittings and household appliances. Accelerating or braking device comprises a catch that can be moved along a guide track and has a receiving means into which a section of an activator can be inserted, in order to move the catch along the guide track against the force of a damper, wherein the activator is applied to a contact surface of the catch when impinging on the catch, wherein the contact surface is oriented, in an inclined manner, in a direction perpendicular to the direction of movement of the catch, and the section of the activator is swivelled into the receiving means when impinging on the contact surface.
EFFECT: compact configuration, ensuring reliable coupling of the activator and the catch and preventing the jumping of the activator on the catch.
