FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the formation of a hot glass sheet with transverse curvature. Hot glass sheet forming apparatus comprises a housing having a heated chamber, an upper mould, a lower mould, a vacuum source, a gas lift jet array, an output mould. Jet array is located below the glass sheet feeding plane and is designed to supply upwardly directed gas lift jets that provide a single pulse to lift the glass sheet up from the roller conveyor to the upper mould in its lower position and contacting the intermediate portion of the raised glass sheet with the downwardly directed surface of the upper mould by less than 50 % of the distance between the distal ends of the end portions of the glass sheet.
EFFECT: technical result is improvement of the optical characteristics of the intermediate part of the glass.
